[rollei_list] Zeiss Lens Book

I recently did a search for a book on old lenses and discovered one that may be of interest to denizens of this list, and maybe old hat for Marc. The info is from a Zeiss web page. Here is the info from the web site:

20 Million CZ Lenses - Listed in 3 volumes

Well-known photo industry historian Hartmut Thiele has just published his 3-volume "Fabrikationsbuch Photooptik". It is written in German and lists virtually all Carl Zeiss lenses from the very first one made in 1890 to current types made until 1997.

It also gives very interesting background information on the various sites of Carl Zeiss lens production and their particular histories: Jena, Saalfeld, Coburg, Oberkochen, and others.
The "Fabrikationsbuch Photooptik" is a very valuable source of information for all who are in search of history facts on Carl Zeiss lenses, of collectibles, or of second hand lenses for their cameras.

Thieles books are available at the german Boostore "Lindemanns Buchhandlung" in Stuttgart.
