Save for the exotics -- extreme telephotos and extreme wide-angles -- all Contax RTS lenses were made in Japan from Japanese glass. Yashica/Kyocera insisted that final quality control be by Zeiss inspectors so, for years, the room in which these inspectios were done was supposedly called "the round-eye room" but, towards the end, Zeiss hired Japanese and Indians as inspectors.

Your lenses should say, "Made in Japan", as this is the case.
