Not my words -- the words of Zeiss. It is Zeiss and Kyocera who state that these lenses were made in Japan. They even published a book on the subject , ONLY ZEISS: CARL ZEISS T* LENSES CONTAX. Argue with Zeiss and Kyocera if you will. It will do you no good: the historical record is clear.

If you want some fraudulent marking, look to the Cosina "Voigtländer" cameras. GERMANY is set out in white. Not emphasized, in black, is "Made in Japan".

Engravings tell you very little, Robert.
