There was also a similar period for rangefinder Leica gear, when spotless used M2 or M3 bodies could be had for $150 or so. In 35mm there was a common notion and attitude that if it wasn't an SLR, it was basically not worth having. It 6x6cm, it was that if it wasn't a Hasselblad it wasn't worth having, G King
