[rollei_list] Re: Strange Rollie problem

First off, thanks to everybody who's chipped in so quickly with advice
and suggestions.

Okay - after some further consideration, I've realized that it almost
definitely has to be a film flatness or transport issue. I've double
checked the metal frame, and the pressure plate, and everything looks
fine (albeit to my untrained eye). There is no corresponding angle or
hook shape to the metal frame inside.

This might be a dumb question, but just to make sure - the film plate
is set by the numbers that are SHOWING, not the ones covered. Right?
So if I can SEE the 6x6 numbers, that means I've got it set to the
right pressure.

The film spools both sit properly so far as I can see.

It must be an issue with film winding. However, I just put a
sacrificial roll through with the back door open to check that
everything looks alright, and I couldn't see anything out of the
ordinary. The film winds through straight - no angle. Of course it
was impossible to check that the pressure plate was doing its job with
the flap open. The film did bulge up as it travelled, but I assume
that this is normal, hence the function of the pressure plate.

I've also never noticed any lack of sharpness in the images, even at
wide apertures, that should be the result of the film bulging or
travelling at a strange angle.

Getting closer, maybe, but I'm still stymied.

Cheers,
Jonathon
