Worth a shot. If you try it, let us know how it goes. Austin was of
course entirely correct in reminding me that modern scanners
calibrate themselves using their internal lights. Hopefully the light-
box placed on top will be sufficient for this purpose.
One other aggravation you may run into is that very often the
manufacturers' scanning software assumes that if you are using the
transparency adapter, you must be using their custom negative or
slide holder, and will lock itself into scanning only that format.
Also, it may assume that your maximum scanning area is the same as
your scanner's backlight, which is certainly smaller than your light-
box, and not allow you to scan outside that area. You might have to
try Silverfast or Vuescan to scan the entire area.
