I thought I'd take a minute to weigh in on this.

It occurs to me that scanning needs for 120 really depend on one's photography needs.

As a happy amateur who doesn't print the large prints Jim Brick mentioned, my 4990 serves my needs quite nicely.

I have come to appreciate the quality of smaller prints, and I don't print larger than I can get on my R2400. My 4990 produces scans that print very nicely at those sizes.

If, however, I wanted to print 30x30 or larger, like Jim does, I'd be looking for another scanner.

Further, the quality of images I get with my Rolleiflexes and Hasselblads, using the "new" C41 films, produce very acceptably sharp prints.

peace to all,

Ken
