Being sort of budget conscious I use Photoshop Elements, now up to Version 7. It costs very little at CostCo (none down there I suppose) and has a built-in pano function. I have used it to create a 360 degree scan from the center of a park nearby and to put together a 11X17 print from college days that had to be scanned in sections. Works just fine for things like that.
