Have you ever thought of taking a screwdriver to your Rollei? I've just posted 2 new articles to my website, one about (successfully) getting my 'new' Original up to speed, and one about servicing a Rolleicord Art Deco shutter, inconclusive so far:

Prochnow's first book _Rollei Report_ has reasonably good instructions for repairing early Rolleiflexes and shutters. Very often a drop of Naptha will fix a sluggish speed regulator but one must be very careful not to get any on the shutter or diaphragm blades.
The correct way to clean a shutter requires some disassembly but it is usually the gear chain that causes the problems.
