I thought we were talking about close-ups here.

Don't get me wrong - I love my TLRs too for the types of things you cite, but not for my macrophotography

DOF Mike?, you have an automatic DOF calculator in the
TLR and BTW it is a good exercise for the mind to use
the DOF scale if the model that your are using don't
have it, I love the TLR viewfinder, I love the TLR
perspective in my photos that I obtain from the
viewfinder, what do you think about Richard Avedon,
Irving Penn, Robert Doisneau, Diane Arbus, Robert
Cappa, Fritz Henle, to mention some of the TLR
shooters known in USA, are they among the best
shooters?

All the best

I for one agree with Eric and Richard on this. When
shooting close-ups, the best shooters keep an eye on the background as
much as the subject. One distracting element, usually a highlight, can
really ruin a great shot.

Hard to do this when you don't see what's on the
film in the viewfinder. Its also hard to see the depth of
field. I use an SLR or view camera for this kind of work.

to get really close, use an SLR. I won't use my

As Richard K and I have both pointed out, this is
incorrect
information. The effect is there at 3 feet and can
be quite obvious
when using Rolleinars.

My best regards to your angels. :-)
