[rollei_list] Re: Rollei lens fungus removal was: Maxwell Screen - Self Installation?

Craig et al.:
Wished I had known that Ebel can deal with fungus. I just sold the 2.8E (Xenotar) I recently bought locally to a not-so-easy-to-deal-with guy in China because the consensus here seemed to be that only John van Stelten does moldy lenses (for a fortune).
The camera only seemed to have fungus on the rear of the viewing lens but of course the fungus spores probably got elsewhere. Will keep Ebel in mind for the next basement-stored Rolleiflex that comes around.
What's Ebel's address/phone/email again?
Wished there was someone as quick and thorough for Contax's & Super Ikonta's!!
Jan
P.S.: I did keep the mint black strap, pristine German instr. book and booklet "Die prakischen Ergaenzungen" (practical accessories) that came with the 2.8E.

I'll second Richard's endorsement. At his suggestion I sent my 2.8C to
Paul a couple of weeks ago for a routine cleaning, lubrication and
adjustment. It arrived back today looking like new and functioning more
smoothly than any Rollei I've owned.
The camera was a sight unseen auction purchase from a guy who'd
apparently left it on a dark closet shelf for many years in its
everready case. Bad! Very bad! Predictably, the advertised "mint"
lenses were full of fog, dust and (horrors!) fungus.
Paul Ebel, however, disassembled and cleaned the optics thoroughly as
part of his CLA process. ....
