Interesting comparisons and opinions there Jerry.

I agree in some ways but think that different cameras and so many of
their own idiosyncrasies and aspects of condition I fear has more to
do with lens performances than the actual formula of the lens.  I have
a Tessar on my Zeiss Ikon Contessa that is a fine performer. The
Tessar on my 35T is even sharper IMO.  But the Tessar on my Certo
Super Sport Dolly:

Is sort of soft.  And then the Xenotar (which you seem dissatisfied
with) on my 3.5E3 Rolleiflex is amazingly sharp, sharper for sure than
any of my Tessar lensed cameras.
