[rollei_list] Rollei 3.5 MX - EVS, type 2

...there were three technical moments for the EVS
development. The first moment we can find in the
firsts 3.5B or MX-EVS Type 1 cameras, these cameras
have not the middle button in the diaphragm wheel to
lock-unlock the system, these cameras are from the
serial number 1,428,000 till 1,464,000 (this block
complete is till 1,499,999). These rare firsts MX-EVS
have engraved the word "Germany" in the diaphragm
wheel, Prochnow shows a photograph in 16-358. I think
this camera is rare today because the serial numbers
block is shared with the 2.8C.

Thank you for repeating this Carlos, I must have missed your first post. I was about to reply that Evans had missed the first variation on the EVS. I have the earliest version on a "beater" Rolleiflex (with a Xenar lens) which I bought about 8-10 years ago to take along when I did not want to risk one of my "good" ones (originally for travel in the Russian Far East, altho it has survived among other things, a fall down a Mexican pyramid, a fall into a Balinese grave, and a cross country skiing accident involving me, two snow machines and a moose). Had I known it was rare, I would have probably got fewer pictures with it :-). Back in the days when he could still work on them, Heinz Grasshof rebuilt it for me twice.

It now sits in an Omnica Tasche (p 348 of Procnow vol 2) with most of my Bay 1 accessories and I have a $25 MX beater from Ebay to take along when I don't act my age (which is less common, alas, than it used to be).
