Hate to say it, but there is no confusion on my part about this gear. I've had too many problems with the early series. I was told by Rollei USA during the time of their use that they were not considered professional quality. Yep, that right. I asked them what was the identifying marker that made a lens 'professional' or not professional. The answer was low rate of repair. Something that the SLX and 6006 line failed miserably at.
I have in my bathroom a little box frame with 3 pieces from a 6006, which I was told 'was' professionally rated because it never wore out. I have them, with the technicians notes, framed as a reminder of what parts look like that never wear out.
I've been around the block with Rollei. In spite of these issues, I still think it's the best camera I've used to date.

You seem to be confusing the reliability of the lenses vs problems with using them on newer cameras.

You are still not making any sense...

You're looking at first generation motors on these lenses. These burned out very quickly. I believe the space for them inside the lens will not allow for new PQ motors to be installed. These early motors were never considered professional quality to begin with.

I still don't understand why you said they will not work on newer cameras.
I thought it was the other way around... Newer lenses not on older cameras.

Paperweight. Just kidding. On other hand PQS lenses users are instructed not to use them on the early bodies.

I meant the older non PQ and PQS lenses.
What is the term for these lenses??

If I mount a HFT lens on a 6006 it will cause problems??

HFT is the lens coating. It has nothing to do with the mechanical/electrical/camera compatibility lens design.
