[rollei_list] Ring Shutter 3.5F

Does anyone in the group happen to have an early 3.5F with the geared rings surrounding the shutter and an EV system?

I have owned and used one for a number of years, but I never encountered another example to compare with mine, or a manual that explains the operation of this model.

Mine produces great images but it can be irritating to use. Specifically, when it reaches the limits of the exposure meter scale resetting the shutter speed or the aperture is difficult to the point of being annoying.

At 1/60 or 1/125 second, the aperture works nicely either on EV or manual between f22 and about half way between f8 and f11. If I have to use a slow shutter speed and wide open aperture in poor light it is difficult and slow to get the settings where I want them. Eventually I can get it reset but the effort required to turn the setting wheels with the EV lock depressed seems to be excessive.

This condition has been there as long as I have owned it. I would suspect some kind of adjustment or mechanical problem if the meter didn't work exactly right the way it is.

Question: Is this normal for this model or does mine need to be serviced? I've become rather accustomed to it but for some reason I became curious and decided to ask.
