Peter,
First of all it is NOT an E. It is an E2. And the back was designed to
accommodate the shifting pressure plate for the flat glass. The camera
works perfectly well without the glass in place. The bulge back
requires a special eveready case.
In fact I have one of those cases that i would like to swap for a normal
case of equal condition and vintage.
