This group, are they older scans certainly look like scans from slides not
negs due to the contrast and or lack of anything going on at all in the
lower tones. Lack of near blacks. I long to have these slides on a light
table cranked up to the brightest with a good loupe so I can see into some
of those shadows. Which I have a feeling I'd be able to.

I think the scanners cutting edge as they've been making them in the past
couple years are pretty much up to the task for slide films that's why I ask
if these are older scans.
Some gorgeous images by the way. The ones before especially. Love your whole
gallery. Someone should tell me what this flker thing is.

I admit to having spent some energy in the past week convincing an
enthusiast to shoot medium format negs not slides. My reasons were ease of
scanning. Lack of need of bracketing. Tonal range. Speed as cursing speed
for color neg now is 800. Which looks like 200 ASA of only a few years ago.
That really comes in handy in medium format where its real nice to stop down
a few and use a fast shutter speed. Cost.
Yes they look great on a light table slides do but %99.99 of the R&D in the
remaining film industry had gone to and is going to color neg as it always
has. The latitude now is the same as black and white IMO.
I don't think the color is worse with scanning now you can make the color
look any way you want. You can make it look like Kodachrome or Polaroid.
The only thing you don't have is that reference. That positive image. Which
we too soon forgot was not what we necessarily saw when we took the picture.
I wonder how much transparency film they are making and selling right now
and to whom and for what.

I've been shooting 220 Pro 800 Z Fujicolor in my Rolleiflex in the past
three weeks and its very enabling. I'll upload some for the list soon I've
got some uploading stuff figured out with the auto end of Photoshop and have
a new gallery on my site finally up after being stuck for years.

I can see why you'd want to disinvolve yourself from a tripod shooting along
a creek bed.
But whenever I think or hear "I don't have to use my tripod now" to me its a
mixed bag. as tripod use adds such power to ones shots." we can out Ansel
Ansel. I think tripods are "freeing" not the opposite. But you've got to
drag out your tripod to remind yourself of that. Find your cable release.
