While I tend to buy and collect the Scottish single malt variety, I have over the years learned to appreciate the Irish as well. It's a completely different drink, and has it's own character and strengths.

They can't really be substituted for each other.

I do enjoy Irish whisky as well as Scotch and Bourbon etc. A fine distillery produces a fine 'tibble' wherever it is situated and a couple of fingers can

Many years ago I worked with a Scots barman who referred to Irish whiskey as
'Peintt sstrriprrr'...but later I also worked with an Irish barman...

At the risk of annoying people: Probably a scotch single malt, although I'm Irish and truly believe that Whisk(e)y is an Irish invention, I am willing to concede that the scotch have got quite good at making it over the years, as they should have, Scotland being one of the few successful Irish colonies. Cry over a Rollei, no. A dead Rollei is just an excuse to get another Rollei.

Sorry Larry...

...but are you referring to Scotch whisky or Irish whiskey? Being a single malt, I guess you mean whisky; it makes a difference whether you cry over
the spilt whisky or the spoilt Rollei...

If I dropped my Rollei into single malt whiskey, should I choose one of the top selling Japanese brands or should I stick to something from Scotland?
