[rollei_list] Re: On This Day in 1909

I purchased a second hand 2000S Audi, I don't have it any more. I bought it from Bruno Freibach about 20 years ago. To start it, I had to disconnect the plug closest to the engine (otherwise it would flood out) Start the engine, then replace the plug.

Bruno had a shop in Ridgewood, Queens, where he built Audis which he raced, with the help of Audi Europe. They would send him the parts and he would construct the car in one of two garages which he had for the purpose. He was racing along with Paul Newman, the actor. Bruno sold his repair operation recently and finally retired at the age of 80something. Bruno was also a musician. He studied at the Conservatory in Munich before WWII. Andy and his brother Peter bought the shop and they are repairing VWs as we speak.
