On the second point, could you cite the passage in Prochnow where he states
that SL35 HFT lenses were made in Singapore?  I can only find references in
Prochnow to such lenses being made in Braunschweig, but I might well be
missing something.

On the first part, Zeiss is paid a hefty licensing fee from Rollei both for
the use of the HFT process and for the use of Zeiss designs in the
production of HFT lenses.  So,  yes, they have a strong fiscal advantage to
participating in a fudge statement, quite misleading but not an outright
falsehood, to bolster Rollei sales.
