I'm not sure what happened to REA but they used to handle baggage for many railroads. Maybe they are in disguise and do the same for airlines.

REA seemed to do everything they could to damage things. One summer, during high school, when I still lived in OKC, I went to Long Beach to visit my dad, and of course the "War Surplus Stores" were in full swing. I bought a nice 3,000 volt transformer, built a strong wooden box for it which included internal braces, etc. and shipped it home via Railway Express.

When I picked it up back here it was dumped on the counter UPSIDE DOWN, despite all the "Up" markers on the sides and the "Top" and "Bottom" markers on it. It survived, but I would guess that lots of folks had their shipments destroyed.

It's good that they are gone.
