I've been shooting black and white so long that I haven't kept on what
is and what is not available in color films. Did they stop making
Velvia 50. Since 220 is mentioned, perhaps it was only the 220 variety,
but then then there is mention of refomulation so I am left thinking
Velvia must have disappeared and has resurfaced in a new formulation. I
still have the old variety in the freezer. Collector's items, I guess.
Best to all--Doug

Just to be clear, Jim, I believe the release mentions that the
reintroduction will be with a reformulated emulsion due to lack of
availability of original materials. They hope to mirror the
original... let's see how close they come...

I got the notice from Fuji last week, which was very good news, at
least for me as this 'IS' my film! I still have fifteen rolls of 220
in my fridge. I have tried Velvia 100. It's NOT the same. I'm
zoned-in on Velvia 50.

Just to be clear, Jim, I believe the release mentions that the reintroduction will be with a reformulated emulsion due to lack of availability of original materials. They hope to mirror the original... let's see how close they come... Eric Goldstein On 11/17/06, Jim Brick <jim@xxxxxxxxx> wrote:
