I haven't been an active modeler since the late 1960's but among the old engines I have are: 

Dennymite
McCoy 60 and 49 as well as 049 glow and diesel
Holland 065
AC Gilbert 074
Building and flying model planes led to photography as I wanted to record each plane before the inevitable crash. Eventually my skills improved to the point where the planes simply wore out.

I'm a bit younger than you (only a wee bit) so I was
from the glow-plug era but also from the Diesel era.

So, what I have left (oldies)include a:

K&B 19 (a Torpedo)
McCoy .049 (Diesel)
ED 2.46 (Diesel
Allbon Dart 0.50 (Diesel)

and then lots of big motors from the 70s:

.40 K&B
.60 Enyas
.60 Foxes
.90 Webra

P.s.  The Olson should be Ohlsson as in Ohlsson &
Rice.
