[rollei_list] OT: lenses are like sex.

At one time, I ran the sound board for a fiddle instructor.  He was very
good, and excelled at slow, ravishingly beautiful passages.  We were
working a "clinic" in Hampton, VA, and there were many bluegrassers, all
eager to learn new tricks to use at the next "old timey fiddlers'
convention."  The instructor was not impressed, and neither was I -- as
nothing matters for bluegrass fiddlers but "how fast can I play."    They
drift off key -- but that's all right.... in Bluegrass.

One of them yelled:  "What about playing FAST!"

Johnny looked at me, grinned wickedly, and said to the crowd, with sad
mock-solemnity: "I believe playing the fiddle is like making love --
there's no virtue in being the first one to be finished!"

so much for sex...
