I didn´t know that Naylor was a jewish family name. I´m saying this because
in the forties (1940-42) we here in Brazil had the visit of a very talented
photographer named Genevieve Naylor. She became friend of many brazilians
intellectuals and had a permanent relation with the country. There is a book
printed in the USA but supported by the Brazilian Consulate in Miami with
her work. Very good photographies of brazilian inland and people (the great
coffee nation in her words). I´m wondering if Genevieve is related to Jack
who passed away recently. Genevieve died in 1989 (born 1915). Best from
Brazil, JL

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Eric.
I did not know of Mr. Naylor, but my sympathy is with his family and
friends just the same.
I found the NPR story very interesting indeed. The article is a year old,
you say, what has happened to the collection?

Jack died peacefully at his home last night, surrounded by his family.
This is a huge loss for so many. His wife Enid wanted the photo
community to
know as soon as possible.
Tentative plans are for a memorial service at Temple Israel in Boston
on Wednesday morning. Check with them for updates and times.

For those who don't know Jack, here is a bit about him which aired
last year on NPR:
