My "expedition" to Mt Lee was over 50 years ago. I have some great Kodachrome 
slides of Hollywood, taken thru the three "O"s in the sign.

Harley Earl is singular NOT plural!

The Lee family sponsored race cars over half a century ago.

I was also on top of Mount Lee some time ago. After Don Lee Broadcasting moved its TV and FM stations to Mt. Wilson the property was sold to the City of Los Angeles and became the site of a number of public service transmitters. It is still used for that purpose, police, fire, DWP, CHP, etc., being up there. The original buildings and tower were dismantled about a dozen years ago and new ones built. It looks superficially the same but none of the original stuff is there. It is well guarded and Mt.Lee Drive is closed off to all but official traffic. If you begin to hike up there after a while a police helicopter will come along and warn you off.
