bingo, mark - you hit the nail on the head there. we teach best of both worlds and have students scan large format bw and color negs, and transparencies to work on in photoshop and print digitally. i'm in awe of you shooting model/hair period but especially in 4x5! i wimp out having preferred products or architecture that holds still and doesnt have an attitude generally! Wow, I just got back from lunch and found all this great advice already! Thanks everyone! The 2 lenses in the kit are: Fujinon 210mm f5.6 and a Nikkor 135mm f5.6. The package includes a ton of accessories too. All for less than $900. This seems like a great deal when I look at ebay prices for a similar setup. The seller claims "mint" condition. I have not seen the equipment in person yet, however. I only have one lens for my 4.5, the Cambo. its the same as yours a Fujinon 210mm f5.6. I shot a Clairol add with it paid for it. it cost same as a Nikkor in the Calumet catalog so I got it. it’s hyped its new “air elements” later I found out this was not unusual. turns out Avedon used Fujinon. So how bad could they be? seems to me you could scan a 4.5 neg with not that high end of a scanner and still do way better than results people get from a 40,000 USD digital back. but that’s just a guess on my part.
