[rollei_list] Re: OT: Contax Filter...Vericolor III

1)Tomioka Kogaku Kenkusho -1924- was a traditional Japanese lens
manufacturer. To be brief: Tomioka became aYashica subsidiary in 1968
and it became a Kyocera ceramic group member after Kyocera takeover of
Yashica in 1983. Tomioka became Kyocera Optics Division. The Tomioka
plant is the one where Carl Zeiss lenses are/were manufactured under
contract for Japanese cameras (Carl Zeiss Japan). I have seen Contax
filters boxes with the name "Kyocera Corporation" and "Kyocera Optics"
and then I guess the Contax filters were made by Kyocera Optics, old
Tomioka, at least in part.-

2) The Kodak Technical sheet for the Vericolor III film says :"Notice
of discontinuance:
This film has been discontinued. As a recommended alternative, we
suggest KODAK PROFESSSIONAL PORTRA 160NC Film. For more information,
see KODAK Publication E-190, KODAK PROFESSIONAL PORTRA Film"

Off topic but I'm guessing folks here can answer the following questions.

I acquired a Pentax 67 camera recently which came with a bunch of goodies
thrown in the box.

I have an 82mm Contax orange filter and I'm curious about who manufactured
Contax filters.

I have an unopened pro-pack of 120 Vericolor III film dated 1999, 160 ASA.
I never used this film...can someone tell me if it was the pre-cursor to
todays Kodak Portra 160 film?

Regards,

- Jeff -
