I just won an ebay auction for a 'mint' 2.8D with Planar. Item no: 150220558072 From the pictures (unfortunately not the best, but she emailed me additional shots) and description, it looks like the camera has been well taken care of, hopefully the glass is pristine. The stats: Body nr: 1614016 Carl Zeiss Planar nr: 1857746 Heidosmat nr: 74{0/6/8}433 (hard to see from the pictures if the middle number is a 0, a 6 or an 8. I paid $535, which according to http://members.aol.com/dcolucci/ rolleitlr.htm is just above the mean for this model. I was hoping for a C Type 2 (might still pick one up) to get the round aperture (not sure how big a difference this actually makes) and the EVS system without the meter. From everything I've read it's more important to find a camera in good condition than one particular model, so I'll try this one out first and see how the results look. Any suggestions for things to look for and tests to perform to assess the state of the camera and lens?
