Hold off on the JSK Heidosmat numbers. I would like to believe that these numbers were generated in a consistent fashion by someone but my current belief is that CZJ/ZO/CZ and JSK just shot darts at a blackboard. I would like to believe differently but, as for now, I am forced to that conclusion. Before WWII, the head of the warehouse at the Zeiss Ikon plant at the former ICA plant in Dresden, Christian Steinmetz, assigned serial number runs for Zeiss Ikon cameras from his viscera and it is a miracle that these numbers are not in a more absurd mush than they are -- but Postwar Zeiss Ikon did litle better, and let's not speak of the many declivities in Leitz/Leica and F&H number runs.

Have you checked with Marflex or Todd Belcher about a replacement lens? The lens from the Rolleiflex T should work well though you would have to buy both elements and probably the cell assembly as well. I would hope that this camera could be returned to perfect use. And wouldn't it be fine to own the "most advanced" Rolleiflex 3.5A, as it would have the "recomputed" Tessar?

Todd bought the remaining stock of Rolleiflex Canada stock from a former member of this List who then wandered off onto some sort of motorcycle expedition to South America. (Has anyone heard from him? Was he eaten by a shark off the Gatun Lock or did he shack up with an Incan Princess on the Brazil side of the Andes? The silence is annoying.) When he was on the List, my FAX machine would have been buzzing by now with sixteen pages of Rollei literature showing how to do the conversion. I no longer have a FAX machine (and thank God for that!) but, Todd, I do accept PDF and JPG and even TIFF files.

MARFLEX or Todd Belcher would be your best sources with which to check, I suspect.

Marc
