[rollei_list] Re: New Haven pizza photos

Vancouver has a very large Chinese population, in fact the last census proclaimed that over half the population was Asian. The Chinese food, Dim Sum included, is excellent here. Vancouver also has a vast array of other ethnic foods, practically everything - Ethiopian, Iranian, Afghani, Indonesian, Caribbean, European, Japanese (ask Jerry L about that). Thai, East Indian.... the list is endless and yes, you can get bagels that are boiled and then wood oven baked (http://www.siegelsbagels.com/our_story.htm). Vancouver is a food town and, for the most part, does it well. Of course you can get stinkers, but for the most part competition is fierce so restaurants are 'forced' to provide. Outside of Vancouver ... you take your chances.

You are. It is very rare to find excellent and authentic dim sum in
most US cities outside of SF and NY, and even in those two cities you
must be very selective. Perhaps Todd can confirm that outside of
Vancouver, the same is true for Canada. Boston's "Chinatown" offers
half a dozen choices, all of which are merely adequate...
