Kenneth:Congratulations! I'm a big fan of the 'E' series. My 2.8e (planar) is my main medium format camera. I even have grown to like using the uncoupled meter and 'clockface' ev dial. I leave the shutter speed and aperture dials uncoupled.
If the meter and ev set-up still hold mysteries for you, the 2.8 and 3.5e work the same and there is a manual to the 2.8e up online here: http://www.butkus.org/chinon/rollei/rolleiflex_28_e/rolleiflex_28e-splash.htm
The Planar draws very sharp, with wonderful vintage 'plasticity' to the images. FWIW, when Modern Photography tested then-current Rollei TLR lenses, the 3.5e came out on top.
And shoot lots of 120 transparency film, please! Stephen -------------------------------------------------- From: "Kenneth Frazier" <kennybod@xxxxxxx> Sent: Thursday, December 03, 2009 8:46 PM To: <rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: [rollei_list] Re: My "new" 3.5E It's a Planar!
