I've had problems with the maxwell screens, but not with the Beattie. I had to switch to a +1 diopter with the Maxwell screen.

Have you looked into the diopter of the finder as a possible cause for focus discomfort?

A Hasselblad screen is what I ordered from him today. I bought a 500CM and three lenses in the last month because I couldn't resist how low the prices have gone. But not for a Maxwell screen: I'm paying $250 for that. But I think it's worth it, because I just can't focus an Acute-Matte screen.
