I wouldn't exactly call it a second hand rumor. As it's based on past
experience by a fawning and celebratory choir on this very list.
As far as calling Oceanside Camera Repair, I wouldn't waste my time.
During the years that I used a Rollei professionally, That is just up
to just a few years ago, I went in several times for service only to
be told of the inordinate amount of time it would take for any kind
of work. Naturally, being a commercial photographer, I found the time
frame unacceptable and took my business elsewhere.
While I did, and still do, have at least 6 Rolleis on hand, I could
not afford to be on location short on cameras.
I have in the past used repair services which did next day turn
around time, and at the very longest a week and a half. Those repairs
have never needed to go back for re-does either.

Just to clear this up for you. No. It doesn't take 12 weeks just for a screen installation. I can do a Maxwell screen installation *only* while you wait, or within a couple of days if you ship your Rolleiflex to me.
