Last Friday I had the pleasure of attending a presentation by Marc Small, guest speaker at the Columbus (Ohio) Camera Collectors Society annual weekend photo event. His talk was on the German camera industry, which he delivered with clarity and panache. Marc's mastery of detail, woven seamlessly throughout his narrative, was remarkable.
My interest in the subject had been slight, but since Marc was in the area, I attended mainly to say hello. However, Marc really sold it. The lecture drew me into a real appreciation for how the industry developed, made me care, and was entertaining besides.
Presumably, Marc is available for these talks. For those here who enjoy their hobby in the company of like minded people, please consider pooling resources to invite Marc as a guest lecturer. It will class up the place, guaranteed.
