Marc,
Having studied the Zone System, I like to use a spotmeter
to carefully measure the scene when using MF and LF
cameras on a tripod. I also know how to quickly use the
meters in my Rollei and Leica when speed is important.
But in my mind are the words of my father who said when
teaching me to use the Weston meter, " With film speed of
100, when the meter reads 100 foot candles, the exposure
will be 1/100 second at f11" That was an average scene in
bright sunlight in NY.
