If you find the right size, a zinc air hearing aid battery will retain
1.25v. I bought a 8 pack of six 675 for aobut $6 that fit certain cameras.

That's a great link Eric, thank you.
Do you think the meter would be that much off if set for 1.5 (alk), but run on a 1.55 (silvox)?

I will not quote from a web site without express permission. The referenced sites show/state that alkaline cells show an irregular drop in voltage over the life of the cell from about 1.55 volts to about .9 volts. The voltage drop begins early in the life of the cell. Unless the meter circuit is regulated, this will result in a multiple f/stop drift for a given quantity of light. Mercury and Silver Oxide cells are virtually consistant and flat in their discharge voltage for the life of the cell. If Krikor's recalibration were done quickly with an absolutely fresh alkaline cell, then it should be ok for Silver Oxide cells which will give consistent readings.

Thank you very much, Eric. I do not simply open cited web sites. If you
want to quote from this, please do so.
In any event, I have extensive experience shooting chromes with a Rollei 35
and with a 35S with an alkaline cell and have never had a problem. I am
aware of the falling off of voltage but, other than that, a fresh alkaline
cell will certainly be within all reasonable standards for meter accuracy.
