They are two different models, the 4490 is a flatbed scanner that has 35mm and MF slides and negs (up to 6x12cm)scanning capability; the 4990 is for large format too.-
thanks. still like to know there is how much difference between epson v700 ( or v750) and 4490? there is a big price gap. it's hard to make a decision.
