I have not had knee problems (well, I have but not that badly) but have had cortisone epidurals for my back. At best they help a lot but not for more than a few days. Its enough to help get healing started but no more. If you have too many epidurals the stretching from the liquid can cause more trouble than it cures. I've found I can avoid epidurals by taking large doses of Sodium Naproxin for a few days (I can tolerate it), works just about as well.

That's pretty good stuff. Sort of makes the body non-allergic to itself. I got some a while back when I had swelling in one knee. It's not good to take too long and it also interferes with most blood thinners.

By the way, anyone who wants to see them and can stand it, can have copies of my x rays, before and after. Just let me know. Most folks can't stand to look at them but I find them interesting.
