Bless you, but you just plain think too much. In 1963, my cousin told me
that Weston speeds were .8 ASA, and I have followed that to this day, and
it has worked flawlessly.  My primary meter is my father's 1939 Weston 715
and, yes, it has been recalibrated and rebuilt by George Milton a decade
ago, and it STILL works if you recollect that ASA equals 0.80 Weston.

Cousin Bill was right.  He's been dead these twenty years, and he was a
Pentax shooter for the all of it, but, what the hey.  He was right:  Weston
is 80% of ASA.

Honestly, thank you for the technical explanation which is most deeply
appreciated and most informative.
