[rollei_list] Re: Disappearance of Rollei Gallery

Hi Jan -

The volunteer who maintained it for several years, along with the
Leica and Cosina/Voitlander galleries, finally found it too taxing
time-wise and financially. A couple of months of advisories/warning
were posted here... sorry you missed them and for the frustration over
the closing...

The reality is when a service is free, the standard money-back
guarantee applies. ;-)

Flickr is a subsidiary of Yahoo. Again, there are no guarantees; do
the research as I have and draw your own conclusions. I have had a
"free" (advertiser supported) yahoo email address and other free yahoo
services for 10+ years now. However, there are other choices and
sharing by posting links to any of them is a good alternative for
anyone...

I must have missed this. What happened to our Rollei Gallery?? Was
there an early warning in one of the digests?
Very frustrating to see hours worth of scanning, cleaning, posting and
arranging just deleted.
What are the guarantees that "flickr" will last any longer and remain
free?
