I worked for -hp- for nearly ten years, from the mid
sixties to mid seventies, mostly as a microwave instrument
specialist. The current company has really nothing in common
with the outfit I worked for other than the name.
My observation is that companies who are founded and/or
run by a strong personality often don't survive well after
that person leaves or dies. Examples are -hp-, RCA, Disney,
MGM, even Kodak to some degree, and some others.
