[rollei_list] Digital Rollei Contact Prints was: Tripod versus handheld redux

Kirk et al.
I was quite shocked the first time an (upscale) photo lab told me they shot contacts through the Print-File plastic and then charged a premium for the sheet. I have since always made my own b&w print and just did without for color. Should check if my scanner software has a quick way of assembling contacts but unfortunetay te Epson 3200 Photo negative holder only lets me scan one 6x6 or 6x6 cm frame at a time.

Yes, there are two ways now of making commercial proof sheets ? with photo paper exposed through a Print-File, which causes a bit of blur because of the thickness of the plastic; and in a digital processing machine, for example a Norita, which color-corrects & perhaps even sharpens each frame separately. One way fuzzes everything a bit, & the other makes the negatives look better than they are. Neither is as accurate as the oldest-fashioned way of putting the negatives in a printing frame, under glass & over photo paper.
