My friend Bob did just this. Since he had a lot of Leica M glass, he bought an M8 body and loves it! A demo (never demo'ed) at slightly over $4000. He doesn't use the cutoff filter and has had no trouble with the non-black blacks. Not to say that under very specific circumstances it wouldn't happen - he's not seen it yet. So basically, it's not a problem.

Peter I'm talking about adding to a system not starting a brand new one. For someone with a full set of Leica glass as I have a digital body beingexpensive is not a surprise and is cost effective. Not quite for me though its just a little buggy and though I might be ableto swing it I could not swing for sure the M8.3 which does not rely on cutoff filters in front of every lens. ... And has Auto ISO.I would then have ten grand worth of cameras. One which worked as I liked ittoo. And that's not my price bracket.
