Put one of each in front of you, close your eyes and pick one.
You can take great pictures with either. I use Nikon (analogue), but could probably survive just fine with Canon as well. Both have good to great glass, many lenses to choose from, good handling and ergonomics. 

In other words, it doesn't really matter.

After all, it's only digital ;-)
