Austin,

You're tilting at windmills.

Bob

According to the IRS, an estate tax filing need only be made if the value of an estate exceeds the following amounts:

2005: First $1,500,000 in assets
2006-2008: First $2,000,000 in assets
2009: First $3,500,000 in assets

In addition, the maximum estate tax rate applied to the amounts in excess of these figures are as follows:

2005: 47 percent
2006: 46 percent
2007- 2009: 45 percent

In 2010, the estate tax rate drops to zero percent; if you die in that year, your heirs would not pay taxes, even if you passed on $20 billion!

Hi Frank,

So, you should not be able to hand what you earned/worked for down to your children? The government should get most all of it? Here in the US, they already get near %75 of it (initial taxes, plus %50 inheritance tax). I disagree very very very strongly with that. I worked for it/earned it, and ALREADY PAID TAXES ON IT, and I should be able to do with it what I want, at
least within my immediate family.

Regards,

Austin

I would. The only tax I approve of is inheritance tax. 100%. Not
practical i know, but -earned- income should be un-taxed and
something you get by luck, without work, heavily taxed.
Simplistic.

Why not have copyright end with the death of the original
artist/inventor, he
doesn't need the income anymore and it would avoid unseemly

family, who have done nothing to earn the income.

If your going to just give up your intellectual property to the
state why
not also give up your cameras and homes as well?
