Audio Engineering Society nearly forty years ago. He 
described a method of measurement using sparks as the source 
of impulse signals. He intimated that this was used in 
testing his, then new, Bose speaker system. It was not. His 
speakers actually sounded pretty good until compared with a 
genuinely good system. Nothing he did was new, most of it 
was hype.
