Yes. YOU would try, because you have the experience.
As does Richard, but Jean-Marc does not. He admits
it.

I have seen real technicians charging double if a camera
has been f*&^ed up by well meaning idiots.  Gunsmiths
do the same if a gun has been brought to them "in a
shoebox".  I have done the same when I was building
Porsche racing engines. I want the engine intact.

I recall a well meaning Navy seaman, bringing me a
3.5 E Rolleiflex, halfway disassembled. He wanted me to
"fix it".  I said I would, but it would take time and money.
Three years later, I still have it.
