[rollei_list] Benno Thorsche in the US

Thanks to some input from a friend n the IDCC, I can know confirm that Benno Thorsche established and ran the Studio City Camera Exchange at 12174 Ventura Boulevard in North Hollywood, California 91604 (telephone 818-762-4749), though the family seems to have closed the store in early 2006:

Well, Charlie Noble deserves credit for one slim deed: he did suggest that the Guthe and Thorsche families be permitted to emigrate to the US. I doubt that this was from altruistic motives -- he does not seem to have been the sort of person to have been much exercised by such -- but rather to have them far away if the Nazi regime should collapse and his ownership of the KW works might come into question. 

I do not know of the situation of the Guthe family in Detroit.
