The only reason there were massive quantities of
LTM lenses marketed in the US was an artifact of
the Fair Trade Laws of the time. Prior to 1950,
there were a few Meyer lenses and the Wartime CZJ
lenses sold in Sweden and Spain but the explosion
came when the New York dealers figured out a good
way to get around the ability of Leitz and Zeiss
Ikon to set their selling prices.
In the end, my LTM lens book was only possible due to the Fair Trade Laws!
